ANIMALS

This book is a revised edition of the book "Wildlife" also published by Walter Foster Publishing.  This book features only the work of Rod Lawrence and three new painting demonstrations have been added exclusively for this new version.  The three new paintings are a horse head portrait, a cat, and the puppy shown on the cover.  Each is a domestic animal and have been added to the wild animals included from the previous book.  The name of the book, "Animals", reflects the coverage of both wild and domestic animals in this step-by-step instructional book.

"Acrylic paint combines many of the best features of both watercolor and oil paint.  Acrylic can be thinned to create transparent washes, it dries quickly, and it requires no solvents for thinning or cleanup; it also produces vibrant colors and can be built up with opaque layers or applied thickly, straight fro the tube.  And acrylic's versatility makes it an ideal medium for capturing the diversity of the natural world.  The ten projects in the book explore the acrylic painting methods of two seasoned wildlife artists.  Each lesson will introduce you to exciting new techniques for creating breathtaking animal art, such as rendering realistic fur and feathers, simplifying your backgrounds, and using your own reference photographs.  Along the way, you'll discover the inspiration you need to start creating your own wildlife art today!" - from the book, "Wildlife."
