Spring has arrived and as the temperatures rise, the snow melts.  This lynx has found a cool spot for a nap, out of the warm, spring sunshine.  A couple of black-capped chickadees have paused briefly in the sunshine, while their sometime pursuer dreams in the shadows - perhaps of catching them napping!

“While the setting in this painting could be anywhere in a number of rugged areas where lynx may be found, this particular spot is based on a trip I made to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
