Many times I have been in the woods seemingly alone, and then I get that feeling that I am being watched, that something is there.  As I look around, I discover some animal , a deer, coyote or such standing nearby.  In nearly every instance, that animal discovered me long ago and has been intently studying me as I made my approach.  With a few quick bounds it then purposely allowed a quick glimpse before disappearing right before my eyes.

Face to Face is that glimpse, that first time you spot the animal.  As soon as you see the wolf, you know he has been watching you; not threatening, just a long, close look.  How long has he been there?  What is going through his mind  Are there more around?  You turn to look, and suddenly nothing but the trees remain.  Yet how wonderful that one glimpse; that one encounter face to face.
